JD tried to climb onto the desk and ended up splashing himself in the face with a bowl of chips.

Kitten meets kit
Our girl Freddie meets one of Kiwi's fledglings during its first run outside today. After a stern reminder, Freddie was very gentle and properly introduced herself to the babies.

First time under the sun
The "Clones" (as we now call them) went outside for the first time today. They munched on grass with their mother. They met the kittens (who needed a refresher on being gentle). But by the the time noon came, they all hopped back in the box and flopped together in the heat.

Such a handsome guy
Every time I see Rumble, I have to tell him he is such a handsome boy. As an added bonus, he is the softest rabbit in the herd. Such a sweetie to have.

A button eater!
Magnus has already discovered the delicacy of soft buttons. He took a chomp at the remote control and now at the soft buttons on the keyboard. He couldn't bite it off and swallow, of course.
The more rabbits you have, the more you learn... the hard way.

Video Bonus: X-Ray Vision
Rumble has a unique characteristic that some vets call "scanning." He turns his head side to side like an oscillating fan. It is harmless and also seems to be hereditary, because one of his babies moves just like him.
We like this unusual behavior. When he stands there, eyes locked on you, slowly scanning you over, it feels as though he is looking right through you like an x-ray.

5 hungry faces and one food bowl
Kiwi's babies act like fully grown rabbits now. Being under 5 weeks, they still have the nerve to push her out of the pellet bowl. One of them even figured out how to climb out the top of the cage.

Run around time?
Now that Kiwi got a huge cage we have to be fair by giving Vanna more run around time on the floor. She and the Three Amigos have been playing around for hours.

Just like Dad
Magnus got to play with his cousins in the exercise pen today. He acts just like his father, Hugs - chewing at the wire, digging at nothing, running around with never-ending energy. We had hoped that he would be more like his mother, Vanna. She is easy-going and interested in people. Either way, we love that little white bunny.

The Kiwi Clan
They used to live in an old cage only 24" wide - not enough room for a mother and a box full of 4 growing Hollands. Uncles Ickus, Mochi, and JD have graciously given up their large cage and downsized their own living spaces. The Kiwis are much happier now.

Line of fire
Marshmallow the cat likes to touch Hugs through the fence. Hugs cleverly stepped away and started sweeping dirt in 'Mallow's face.

Trouble at dinner time
Vanna is ready to chow down, but Magnus wants to cuddle. He likes to force himself under fluffy things like pillows and other bunnies. Poor Vanna has to bridge over him to reach the bowl.

Chow time!
The Three Amigos always huddle around the bowl until the pellets are gone. It doesn't matter if there is not room for all three faces in there, they only lift their head to finish chewing and then swallow.

Mother and baby
We have been calling the baby Magnus. He was the very big one in the litter. And that name was on an episode of Kick Buttowski not long after he (or she) was born. Hope it's a boy!

Kiwi's babies
Kiwi's babies are to the point where half the eyes in the litter have opened already. They also know how to jump out of the nest box but they don't know how to get back in. We have to check on them and replace the babies a few times a day. They are all chinchilla pattern and look almost exactly the same. I hope I find some way to tell them apart.

Camoflauge Rumble
Rumble is only 30% as shy as he used to be. Now he likes to play with the kittens during outside time. He sneaks out of the shadows, catches them by surprise, and then runs away.

Hello world!
Vanna's baby opened one eye today and saw us for the first time. "So, you guys are the obnoxious voices I keep hearing."
