Don't lick anything cold!

Stitch shows off her white belly and her pink tongue. This is the first time the Kiwi clones have seen snow, and they loved it! They spent all their time hopping up the drifts and digging in the powder. They kept trying to get Uncle Ickus to play, egging him on, but Icky hates the snow and he never moved.

Yuck!

Apparently Leroy does not like the flavor of dead leaves.

A gift worth binkying for

Yesterday, the bunnies received a huge gift from their Human great grandparents. A giant dog enclosure. We came home to discover it sitting in our front yard. The bunnies are trying it out for the first time and they love it!

First autumn

Kiwi's babies are just as big as she is now. We took one of the clones outside to play in the leaves.

Girls night in

Now that we have separated some of Kiwi's litter, there remain just three in the family cage. With fewer kids at home, it seems more peaceful in there.

The waste chute

We sure are glad to have made that door to the exterior for cleaning the rabbit pans. It speeds up cleaning time by 500% for us.

Attack of the Snuggle Cat

One of our cats intruded on bunny floor time and tried his best to show the babies some affection. Rubs and kisses are just not their thing, I guess. Maybe it was the mouse breath that turned them off.

Nothing is truly "bunny-proof"

Even if you remove everything from the room, by the time you turn around it is almost guaranteed that something will have been destroyed. Before I had this batch of bunnies, I didn't even know they could eat the wall. This is an old hole started by our original Three Amigos and continued by the next generation.

A new room

We finished the bunny room a few days ago. Some of the new features include:
Linoleum instead of carpet
A bunny shelf instead of end tables
Increased floor space for free running
A waste chute to the exterior through which to pass dirty bunny trays (instead of carrying them through the living room and out the front door)
It is bunny-owner approved. Very much so. Especially the waste slot.

Claim jumpers

The bunnies now have a whole bedroom to themselves where they can run around on the floor. I left the cage door open so the Kiwis could come and go, and then I found these two white rascals invading the "lops only" parking zone.

Bunny smooch!

Magnus loves the Kiwi Clones.

"Sheesh, when are they going to make Rabbits 101?"

Two of the Kiwi family enjoy the Animal Planet for awhile.

"I can't seem to reach the doorknob."

"Could you open this door for me?"

A box o' bunnies

You'd think that the Kiwis would be happy to roam when they get the whole hallway to themselves. But what do they do? They all try to cram in litter box in the corner at one time.

A study in geneology

For Kiwi we have her pedigree also represented with pictures. One of the Kiwi Clones sees his ancestors for the first time. Lucky Magnus, he gets to see his grandpa Mochi all the time.

Can't go wrong with Agouti

When we looked at Kiwi's pedigree, it seemed certain that she would have all babies with the agouti pattern, that is, with the white accents on the underside. It's hard not to love the pattern when you see the little flash of white tail as they hop around.

Sitting in the shadow

Here is an example of the baby sitting in my shadow. When he is done running around, this is how he waits for me to pick him up.

A jaunt outside

What do you suppose a young rabbit would do when allowed to run loose on the property? Well this one stuffed his face full of grass, then ran a couple of short laps at full speed for some exercise, and then he bothered the cats for a while, all before coming back to me and staying in my shadow until it was time to go back inside.

Ear buddies

We humans hope someday that we could show affection in a similar way, hugging with our ears.

Exploring the prairie

One of Kiwi's unnamed takes a short jaunt while one of the kittens stands watch.
