Revenge on the cat

Hugs doesn't enjoy the outside exercise pen as much as he used to. The kittens have grown up and taken it over. Here he stalks one of the cats while it is distracted.

A mammal with pin feathers?

Our three boys have started shedding simultaneously. JD, being gray underneath his black tips, is very conspicuous during this season. Here you can see he has developed odd spots in his coat that I call "pin feathers."

"Don't touch my boy!"

JD does not like Hugs. Mochi consistently intervened to keep JD from nipping at his son, Hugs, through the wire.

Playing mirror

Mochi and Hugs re-enact that famous scene with Harpo and Lucy.

I love you Daddy!

We recently modified our outside exercise pen so that it is divided into sections. When Mochi and Hugs are out at the same time, they cannot stop visiting each other. Perhaps Mochi really does remember that this is his son, even though they were separated for a year and half.

Kitten meets kit

Our girl Freddie meets one of Kiwi's fledglings during its first run outside today. After a stern reminder, Freddie was very gentle and properly introduced herself to the babies.

First time under the sun

The "Clones" (as we now call them) went outside for the first time today. They munched on grass with their mother. They met the kittens (who needed a refresher on being gentle). But by the the time noon came, they all hopped back in the box and flopped together in the heat.

Such a handsome guy

Every time I see Rumble, I have to tell him he is such a handsome boy. As an added bonus, he is the softest rabbit in the herd. Such a sweetie to have.

Brief eye contact

Hugs and the kitten lock eyes for a brief moment, but it wasn't meant to be. What would Vanna say?

Line of fire

Marshmallow the cat likes to touch Hugs through the fence. Hugs cleverly stepped away and started sweeping dirt in 'Mallow's face.

Camoflauge Rumble

Rumble is only 30% as shy as he used to be. Now he likes to play with the kittens during outside time. He sneaks out of the shadows, catches them by surprise, and then runs away.

Hugs taking off

In his imagination, he is a rocketeer heading for the stratosphere.

Time to go in?

Hugs has proved to be a bad boy when it comes to socializing with the others. He cannot share floor time so he has to exercise alone. He only gets to run around outside in the mornings, when it's still cool. In this picture, he's already done with the heat and wants to go back inside.

Staying focused

Hugs is on a mission to dig. The kittens are unable to distract him.

Molting out

Rumble's color is starting to show through all his black. He is going on 5 months now and gets better looking every week. Dad has been spending time with him to cut back on the shyness.

"Must I do everything myself?"

Rumbles takes the chore of lawn mowing upon himself.
